The film Core of the World directed by Nataliya Meshchaninova was awarded the Grand-Prix of the Russian Film Festival in Paris, that was held for the fifth time in the capital of France and was named “Flame of Russian Soul” (“Quand les russes s’enflamment”).
The festival took place from 11 to 19 March at three main cinemas in Paris. For the first time, the festival’s program included competition between five Russian films that were never shown in France before. The organizers of the show are confident that the competition will attract distributors’ attention and would help Russian cinematography to reach French screens.
The jury consisted of cinematographers, media managers and distributors, who decided to give the Grand-Prix to Nataliya Meshchaninova and her film Core of the World. Moreover, the film got special prize Cine + d in the amount of 15000 €, that will be given to French distributor, who would issue the film in France.
