Konstantin Bronzit’s We Can’t Live without Space Nominated for an Oscar

We are happy to announce that the animated short We Can’t Live without Space by director Konstantin Bronzit was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Animated Short Film category. The film tells the story of two friends who dream to go to space.

In 2015 the animated short film We Can’t Live without Space was voted the best short film at the prestigious Annecy International Animated Film Festival. It also won the grand prix at the Multivision Festival of Animated Arts in St. Petersburg.

Another film by Konstantin Bronzit, Lavatory— A Love Story, was already nominated for an Oscar in 2009 the Best Animated Short Film category.

From the interview of director Konstantin Bronzit in Novaya Gazeta: “An artist cannot exist in a vacuum, an airless, sterile environment. However impartial he endeavors to be, he is unable to cut the umbilical cord that connects him to his people, his country, and the rest of the world. If you can feel pain, it will always show up somewhere at some point in what you do, even if you are not consciously thinking about it.”
