Screenenig of “Core of the world” at Strelka Film Festival by Okko

July 19, 2018, Moscow. Screening of “Core of the world” opens Strelka Film Festival by Okko, held from 19 to 29 July at Strelka Institute.

The film was presented by its director Natalia Meshchaninova, the main role performer and the writer jointly with Natalia Meshchaninova – Stepan Devonin, actress Ekaterina Vasilieva, cameraman Evgeny Tsvetkov and actress Daria Savelieva.

The event was attended by Vasiliy Sigarev, Yana Troyanova, Sitora Aliyeva, Polina Zueva, Kseniya Rappoport, Alisa Khazanova, Polina Kutepova, Grigoriy Dobrygin, Polina Aug, Musya Totibadze and many others.

In the film’s plot centre is Egor – a vet at a training facility for hunting dogs in a remote region of the country. Surrounded by foxes, deer, badgers, and dogs, he lives in a small building next to the house of the facility’s master. It’s easier for him to get along with dogs than with people. In desperate need of a controlled environment after a violent past relationship with his mother, all he wants is to care for the animals and to feel part of the close-knit family he works for.

The film will be released on September 27, 2018.
