On April 17 CTB Film began the production of a new feature film with a working title of Pioneer Heroes. The film is being directed by Natalia Kudryashova. Producer: Sergey Selyanov.
The film tells the story of three friends whose childhood unfolded in the 1980s in the Soviet Union. Some of the story takes place in 1987; these scenes will be shot on location in Veliky Novgorod. Director Natalia Kudryashova will play one of the protagonists. She also wrote the script for the film. Also starring in the film are Daria Moroz, Aleksey Mitin, Alexander Userdin, Mikhail Krylov, Svetlana Pismechenko, Yola Sanko, Anatoly Bely, Yuri Kuznetsov, and others. The project was originally pitched at the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
“The way I see it, this is a movie about a middle-age crisis,” says producer Sergey Selyanov. “The tragedy of today’s thirty-five-year-olds is that their childhood took place during the Soviet era, and their adult life is unfolding right now. Back then everything looked simple, as though viewed through rose-colored glasses. Now, there are way more colors and shades, and the protagonists find it overwhelming.”
The principal photography is scheduled for completion in May 2014, and the film will be released in 2015.
