A screen adaptation of the renowned work by Franz Kafka. A surveyor is invited to the Castle to carry out his work. When he arrives in the village he discovers to his astonishment that no one expects him. His attempts to prove his integrity are met with a stone wall of incomprehension. His wish to gain entry into the mysterious Castle only grows stronger . . .The film has an unexpected twist, in that the filmmakers have risked giving an ending to Kafka’s work, which was left unfinished by the author.
